Honky Tonk Barbeque features Championship BBQ pork, beef, chicken and other made-from-scratch dishes.

We feature slow, wood-roasted beef, pork and chicken. All our fresh meats are cooked over a wood burning fire with no natural gas. This results in pulled pork and smoked brisket that tastes the way it should, clean and and free of the taste of fuel that you will find in many other barbecue joints in town. Come and try it for yourself and see what a difference the wood makes!

“I learned the backyard barbeque methods of the Weber kettle growing up as the oldest child of 11. I remember cooking for the whole family on the barbecue grill all year long, even in the cold of February we had our grill going.
In my 20′s, I cooked a lot of thick steaks, lamb chops, and homemade sausages I sourced from a small gourmet grocery store in Old Town. During this time, I also hosted a weekly barbecue on the lake shore. The evening was always a gourmet cookout for a couple hours and then a late night sailboat ride. I would often feed 15-30 people on a single small Smokey Joe Weber grill. This ritual was well practiced every summer Thursday night for about 14 years!
After leaving a career in Comercial Printing Sales, I began to explore my hobbies and interests and began cooking barbecue in my yard and in street festivals in and around Chicago. After 3 years of fairs and festivals, I took the plunge and opened my first barbecue restaurant. We are having the time of our lives serving barbecue to Chicagoans that are truely passionate about great barbecue.”

Our barbecue has won awards both locally and nationally. Honky Tonk won First Place for Ribs in the Rib-a-Que Chicago Rib Contest in 2008 and 2009. And in 2008 Willie came home to Chicago with a 3rd place Trophy from the World Championship Memphis-in-May Competition, the largest pork competition in the world.

Along with our Championship BBQ, we serve a variety of homemade sides, salads, sandwiches, and delicious desserts, making Honky Tonk a true Gourmet BBQ destination.

Our Saloon features Custom Cocktails, Hand-Selected Wines, and Craft Beers that take your BBQ experience to the next level. Our Late-Night Bar Menu features bar-friendly food, like our Candied Bacon, quickly becoming the most craved treat on the South Side of Chicago.

Honky Tonk Barbeque is located in the Pilsen neighborhood on the near southwest side of Chicago, about 2 miles southwest of the Willis (Sears) Tower.
